10 Items of clothing to RUN in while it's cold?

The weather finally feels like it is turning. I have been itching to do my summer running clothes to cold running clothes wardrobe swap and I have finally done it. A lot of people ask what I wear in the cold so I thought I would give my full kit list for outdoor running in winter as it is very different to what I wear in the gym and during the summer months.

I do get gifted a few items of kit but I am not sponsored by any brand and all the kit listed below is what I wear and would choose to wear (unless I get recommended something new that I love).

1: The Adidas CLIMALITE cap:

I have long hair so wearing something on my head is helpful but also keeps some of the heat in. I have tried a number of different running caps and this is just the one that fits best and still looks like a normal cap.

2: Karrimor XLITE Thermal running Gloves:

Karrimor provided some kit to my #RunningtheAmericas adventure and these gloves are fantastic (and cheap).

3: GORE Fusion Windstopper Shirt:

When I first received this I thought I would never wear it, but then I did and I am in love with it. It covers your torso and keeps you warm but doesn't feel like you are wearing a jacket.

4: GORE ONE Gore-Tex Jacket:

This is a real example of technical genius. This jacket will not let water through, is incredibly light and can be scrunched down into the one breast pocket. The only down side to this jacket is that I want it to rain more!

5: GORE Fusion Shirt long:

This top just keeps you warm. It is incredible lights, not at all bulky but has all the GORE knowledge incorporated. If its cold outside then wear this. Don't wear it to a warm gym unless you want to sweat uncontrollably!

6: Mizuno Premium Aero Square 4.5:

I have always worn short with cycling shorts underneath. But these shorts are so comfortable they have restored my faith in just plain running shorts.

7: Adidas Techfit Base long tights:

If the weather gets really chilly then I normally stick on a pair of running tights. I love these ones because they are comfortable but even more because I love the design!!

8: 1000 Mile Socks:

Socks are so important and the better the socks the less chance of blisters etc. I used 1000 mile socks while running the length of the Americas and was astounded at just how durable they are!

9: Mizuno Wave Catalyst:

I believe that the ideal shoe for each of us evolves as we get better at running. One year I will swear by one shoe and the next it will be another. At the moment it is the Mizuno Wave Catalyst. They fit well, feel light and seem to compliment my running style.

10: Suunto Spartan Ultra:

As the nights roll in I am enjoying a bit more exploratory runs through London. This watch is great because it allows me to keep track with what I am doing but also make mini 3D movies about my runs!!!
