Everone loves Tales of Adventure

Last night, I had the honour and privilege to speak at the volunteer organised, London based, Tales of Adventure evening. I hate to admit it but it was also my first time attending the event but I came away vowing to add every future event to my diary. Set in the small room above a pub near Covent Garden, London, a monthly gathering of adventurers takes place. Each meeting includes 2 main speakers and one via phone link from a live adventure.

Last night we had Leon McCarron, Jon Beardmore and myself. Leon gave a fascinating talk on his recent 1000mile "Walk the Masar" in the Middle East, Jon played the trailer for his movie that covers a 30,000mile drive across Central Asia and I prattled on about my 17,000km run through the Americas.

The evenings are informal, involve a few drinks and are a great opportunity to meet fascinating people, both those speaking and those listening.
